Senior lunch menu
Available Monday through Friday at the SCV Senior Center in Newhall, and at Bouquet Canyon Seniors. Also available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Masonic Lodge in Friendly Valley (661) 299-4595.

Senior Center activities
The SCV Senior Center is located at 22900 Market St. in Newhall. For a detailed monthly calendar, call the center at (661) 259-9444.
Bouquet Canyon Seniors is located at 26705 Bouquet Canyon Rd. in Saugus. For information call (661) 513-9479. All the following activities will occur at the SCV Senior Center, unless otherwise indicated.

T'ai Chi class at Senior Center
New students will be accepted for the 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday T'ai Chi class at the SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market St., Newhall, during October. All ages welcome. $2 for seniors, $4 for non-seniors. The Senior Center also offers a Saturday morning class from 8:30 to 10 a.m. for $30 per month and a Tuesday-Thursday afternoon class from 3 to 4 p.m. (661) 259-9444, www.scvseniorcenter.org.

SCV Quilt Guild activities
The Santa Clarita Valley Quilt Guild meets on the second Thursday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Methodist Church, 26640 Bouquet Canyon Road, Saugus. The following is a list of upcoming activities:

Health talk senior lectures
Astoria Nursing and Rehab Center will host a series of free lectures for seniors and their families to celebrate their 10-year anniversary.
Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. - Dr. Basem Fanous on Coping with Dementia
Thursday, 1:30 p.m. - Dr. Gene Dorio on Dehydration

Free consumer lectures, services
Wednesday - "Personal Safely: Law Enforcement Tips and Facts for Staying Safe."
All lectures: 1-2 p.m. in Activity Rooms 1 & 2 of the SCV Senior Center, 22900 Market St., Newhall.

Alzheimer's education program
Summerhill Villa and the Alzheimer's Association will host a free community education program "Alzheimer's, my mom, our journey" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 at 24431 Lyons Ave. (661) 254-9933.

Duplicate bridge game in Castaic
There will be a duplicate bridge game every Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. The games will be held at the Castaic Regional Sports Complex until the new addition is completed at the Senior Center in Newhall. For more information, call (661) 803-2266.

Senior Center rummage sale
The SCV Senior Center will host a monthly rummage sale on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Items may be donated on the preceding Friday and Monday each month at 8 a.m. All funds raised benefit the SCV Senior Center.

Come Sing the oldies
You are invited to join the Santa Clarita Silvertone Singers & Rhythm Review every Monday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Bouquet Canyon Senior Living Facility (rec. room), 26705 Bouquet Canyon Road, Saugus. For more information call (661)296-3321.

Line dance class
The Castaic Regional Sports Complex will hold a line dance class from 10 a.m. to noon every Wednesday beginning Oct. 15. For more information, call (661) 775-8865.

Flu shots at the SCV Senior Center
Free flu shots will be administered at the SCV Senior Center on Nov. 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. The shots will be given to individuals who are at high risk for flu. That category includes: People 65 and older; adults with health conditions such as asthma, or other chronic disorders of the pulmonary or cardiovascular systems; pregnant women; and people who required regular medical follow-up or hospitalization during the preceding year due to diabetes, kidney disease, blood disorders, immunosuppression, or other chronic illnesses. Beginner Polynesian Dance
A Beginner Polynesian Dance class is offered at the SCV Senior Center on Mondays from 3-4 p.m. The class instructor is Winona Platenberg. The cost for the class is $3 for seniors and $6 for non-seniors. Call (661) 259-9444 to sign up; reservations requested but not required.

Archeology and Anthropology: Wednesday, 9:30-11:10 a.m. with Fred Rice of USC and Cal State Northridge.
Computer Training (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced in Windows and Mac): Call the Center for Information.
Computer Training for the Visually Impaired: Monday, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday, 12-2 p.m.
Ham Radio: Tuesday, 1-2 p.m.
