Interesting weather we’re having! Don’t let the rain keep you away from Bras for a Cause at the Tournament Players Club today. The event, hosted by Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley will run noon to 3 p.m. Enjoy lunch, art gallery and silent auction with lingerie art representing various themes at Oaks Grille, 26550 Heritage View Lane, Valencia. A Year in the Garden of Hope
Circle of Hope is a Santa Clarita Valley nonprofit organization focused on helping residents fight breast cancer. The group’s eighth annual afternoon tea will be held 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15. All of the profits from the fundraiser are used to financially assist those individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment in the SCV. Tickets are $55 each. The event will be held for only one day this year at a private estate in Sand Canyon. This year’s tea theme “A Year In The Garden Of Hope” spotlights the holidays, seasons and Circle of Hope events throughout a year. The event will feature classic tea fare, silent auction items and raffles. Free valet parking, with entertainment and many surprises throughout the day. Evening Under the Stars

Kudos to the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer 18th annual Evening Under the Stars Gala committee: Chairwoman Julie Benson, vice chairs Gail Berke, Debbie Holbrook, Jon Hutson, Tim Ketchepaw, Lisa Lorenz, Brenda Neilson, Gillian Stone and Danielle Whitener, event committee chairman Bob Barnes and event coordinator Dave Chase. Also, a tip of the hat to Ed Lin, Hoefflin Foundation interim executive director. The event raised more than $200,000 to benefit children with cancer.

Fourth annual Wine Affair
The fourth annual (has it been that long already?) Wine Affair: “Sip, Stroll and Savor the Sounds” will be held 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 along Town Center Drive and The Patios in the Westfield Town Center in Valencia. Restaurants, retailers and wine stores on Town Center Drive and The Patios will be participating, including: The Vines at the Hyatt, Salt Creek Grille, Valencia Wine Company, La Via Bella, Pottery Barn, White House Black Market, J. David Clothiers, RoMa Jewelers, Roman Holiday and William Sonoma. Each venue features wine, food, and musical entertainment. Wine Affair Tickets are available: $40 in advance; $50 after Oct. 9. Breakfast with the Gibbons
Have you had Breakfast with the Gibbons? If not, don’t miss this wonderful, family-friendly event at the Gibbon Conservation Center 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 19100 Esguerra Road, Saugus. Bring friends and family for a day with these highly endangered apes. Enjoy gibbon serenading and acrobatics, vegan breakfast, guided tour at 11 a.m., silent auction, gift boutique and kids activities, including a visit by the Jumbo Shrimp Circus.
