You are probably aware that the city of Santa Clarita has a number of excellent and inviting public parks, most featuring cool green expanses of lawn where you can participate in sports or just lie on your back and watch the clouds float by. But you probably aren't aware just how many such parks there are in our city. Our illustrations here are borrowed from the fall 2011 edition of the city's Seasons brochure, which not only gives you the specs on all the parks, including the facilities available at each of them, it also fills you in on all the organized activities that occur at them. Nearly every one of these parks has picnic tables and child play areas, most have basketball courts and barbecues, a number have softball fields, several have pools and three have tennis courts - and there are two dog parks. Additionally, our parks play host to a multitude of youth and adult sports, as well as classes for all types of other activities.
