First a road closure is dangled out there, then taken off the table. Then a temporary diverter to study the traffic and possibly offer a solution.
That didn't make it a week. Now speed humps. During the August City Council meeting, the mayor and the council members present all agreed that the neighborhood should not have to pay if permanent speed humps are installed.
Guess what? By the next meeting, they'd all flipped again and expect us to pay!
Also, kudos for poor communication in giving the neighborhood residents 24 hours or less notice of the diverter's installation.
Also, for not communicating with neighborhood schools, buses and emergency services on installation of the diverter, and how it may have affected them.
Kudos for wasting our time and money on traffic counts, one very temporary diverter, and several long, emotional meetings.
Kudos for restoring at least one person's faith in the system. Mine has been squashed.
