County library beefs up eBook collection

An extra 10,000 "eBooks" are being added to the county library "eCollection," library officials say.

Officials with the county of Los Angeles Public Library announced today they will add an additional 10,000 eBooks to the library's digital collections.

The eBooks will be available free of charge for county library card holders at colapublib.org/eBooks.

The county news comes on the heels of Thursday's announcement by Amazon.com that Kindle and Kindle computer applications customers can borrow Kindle books from more than 11,000 U.S. libraries.
