The League of California Cities selected the city of Santa Clarita as a 2008 Helen Putnam Award winner.
Santa Clarita won an award in the category of Community Services & Economic Development for its Santa Clarita’s film and tourism program for secure city revenue. The Helen Putnam Award recognizes cities that achieve a level of service in the most effective way.
Teachers endorse Jackson for seat
The Santa Clarita Valley Teachers Association endorsed Hannah-Beth Jackson for the 19th District Senate seat. That district includes sections of Santa Clarita as well as Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
