An Agua Dulce man accused of murder and drunken driving in the crash that killed his neighbor while she was walking her dogs is out on $1 million bail.

Dennis Dean Keene, 63, of Agua Dulce, faces multiple charges in the Aug. 13 death of his neighbor Lori Lindlief, who was hit by a pickup truck. Among those charges is murder.

Wednesday morning, he arrived in custody at Antelope Valley Superior Court on Fourth Street in Lancaster to be heard on the charges.

Keene was arrested shortly before 9 p.m. Aug. 13 and charged in connection with the death of Lindlief, 56. Both lived on White Fox Lane in Agua Dulce.

Lindlief was walking her four dogs with her boyfriend about 8 p.m. just west of White Fox Lane when she was hit by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, Officer Marino Hernandez of the California Highway Patrol said at the time of the incident.

Three days later, Keene appeared in Antelope Valley Municipal Court and was arraigned on charges of murder, vehicular manslaughter and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, including one for causing injury and the other for having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
