SCV Corvette Club celebrates 30th

Club: Dinner-dance held at Robinson Ranch Golf Course for anniversary

Members of the Santa Clarita Valley Corvette Club celebrated the club’s 30th anniversary with a dinner-dance held at Robinson Ranch Country Club in Canyon Country.

The Santa Clarita Valley Corvette Club recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with a dinner-dance celebration at the Robinson Ranch Country Club.

“It is a great location overlooking the beautiful mountainscape backdrop for the Santa Clarita Valley,” said Mike Woodings, vice president of the club.

The club incorporated as a non-profit organization in May of 1981and is the focal point for all things Corvette in the SCV. 
Club members arrived for the cocktail hour just as the sun was starting its descent in the west and an al fresco dinner buffet was served.

During the evening event, City Councilman Bob Kellar presented a proclamation acknowledging the SCV Corvette Club for 30 years of community involvement and service. 

Corvette luminary Dick Guldstrand shared some exciting and entertaining stories from his illustrious Corvette past. 

Other club members were honored with pins for their years of membership. 

A DJ spun dance tunes and the rustic stone patio combined with perfect weather for a great time of dancing and camaraderie, said Woodings.

Officers of the SCV Corvette Club include: President Greg Attl, Vice President:  Mike Woodings, Chairman of the Board  Paul Trock, Secretary Moira Moe, Treasurer Dick Gauthier,  Membership  Pat Attl, Quartermaster Chet Morse, Newsletter Chris Noski, Communications Moira Moe, Activities  Fred Seeley, Gary Balon, Mark Ware, Performance Activities  Howard Butler, Jeff Hernandez and Historian Fred Seeley.

The Corvette sports car is manufactured by American automaker Chevrolet. The first Corvette was introduced in 1953.
All Corvette enthusiasts are invited to join the club for its monthly meetings.

Regular monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. A social hour precedes the meeting at 6 p.m. Meetings are held at Marie Callender, 27630 The Old Road, Valencia.

A social meeting is held on the third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at  Route 66 Classic Grill, 18730 Soledad Canyon Road, Canyon Country.
