Professional arrogance is not a good quality

I write this letter in response to Dr. Barstis' reference in his letter to The Signal (Oct. 13) to those of us who are requesting a smart and honest hospital expansion plan - versus the current proposed plan which is laden with questionable motives, continued dishonest representation, and little in the way of actual hospital expansion - as "quacks."

His view smacks of the same old, tired tactics of attacks and statements full of empty rhetoric, delivered from an attitude of professional elevation.

The individuals whom the doctor is directing his vacuous insult at are citizens of Santa Clarita, who just also happen to be extremely intelligent critical thinkers, and tenacious in their quest to ensure that an expansion of the hospital is delivered, and that our rights, insights and concerns are not ignored or cast aside because we are invalidly characterized as quacks, NIMBYs, uninformed or whatever.

I would also like Dr. Barstis to address why Roger Seaver left his position as CEO of Northridge Hospital, as there is conflicting information on that topic that contradicts the complimentary adjectives he ascribes (very publicly) to Mr. Seaver.
