Aug. 19:

Bouquet Canyon Road. An ongoing feud over cigarette butts tossed by one man into his neighbor’s yard is now a case of vandalism, according to a report written by a deputy of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies responding to the vandalism report found that three solar-powered lights that were originally fixed atop a white vinyl fence "had been knocked onto the ground and destroyed." The incident reportedly happened sometime during the day Aug. 19.

 

Aug. 20:

Magic Mountain Parkway at Town Center Drive. A woman jogging near the intersection Saturday morning was apparently shot by someone firing a BB pellet gun, according to a report written by deputies.

About 11:15 a.m., the jogger who was listening to her iPod with earphones "heard a popping sound and was hit in the right thumb with a white air soft BB." Deputies suspect the alleged gunman may have fled in a white older-model Chevy Tahoe.

 

Aug. 21:

Gray Lane, Canyon Country. Thieves reportedly stole a GPS locating device, cell phone and rose-colored glasses from a woman’s car Sunday, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The theft happened between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17 and 10 a.m. Aug. 18 when thieves entered the woman’s white unlocked Chrysler Sebring. The sunglasses were described as $250 and "pinkish."

 

Aug. 21:

Perlman Place, Stevenson Ranch. Thieves reportedly entered an open garage and stole a woman’s purse containing a wallet with $100 from a 2001 black Audi with its windows left open, deputies reported. They also stole a $2,700 BMX bike that belonged to the woman’s son.

 

Aug. 21:

Railroad Avenue and Eighth Street, Newhall. A 24-year-old Newhall man is charged with public intoxication, according to a deputy’s report that contains four pages detailing the suspect’s swearing during his arrest Sunday night.

The suspect made several cursing references directed at the deputy while he was being handcuffed, placed in the back of the cruiser and eventually placed in a local jail cell.

 

Aug. 22:

Castaic Road near the Roadway Inn. Some time between a half hour after midnight Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday, thieves stole the refrigerator door from a trailer. The part was valued at more than $1,500.

 

Aug. 22:

Avenue Rotella, Valencia. Thieves reportedly stole a laptop computer, a phone card and a black-and-white cow costume from the back seat of an unlocked car parked on Avenue Rotella, a deputy’s report shows.

The value of the items stolen are listed by deputies as $1,000 for the laptop, $50 for the card and $10 for the costume. Deputies have no suspects and no description of suspects.

 

Aug. 22:

Soledad Canyon Road at Albertsons supermarket. An 18-year-old woman was charged with shoplifting for allegedly stealing a bottle of raspberry-flavored vodka. She was detained by store staff and held for sheriff’s deputies.

 

Aug. 22:

McBean Parkway near Copperhill Drive, Valencia. Sometime between Aug. 13 and Aug. 17, someone walked off with a 50-inch flatscreen TV left in a model apartment at the Provence Apartments, according to sheriff’s deputies.

A woman reporting the incident told deputies that "several people have had access inside the apartment," noting also that a window in the room may or not have been open during the visits.
