Now, how about finishing the traffic congestion plans for today? The cross-valley connector should have been completed long ago instead of waiting for another year.
So should the cross-valley Via Princessa roadway, which the Wiley Canyon Bridge (over what was formerly called San Fernando Road) was built to accommodate.
Waiting for developer money to help fund these projects, or entire Bermite property cleanup, just won’t cut it in this economic market.
It will be years before those mansions along the river are built and sold. Just purchase a stretch of land wide enough for the road, clean it up and build Via Princessa.
Here we have two projects built directly opposite each other and neither is complete. In one, they built the bridge before the road was completed, and on the other, they are trying to build the bridge after the road is almost completed.
Check your surveys and studies and figure out how to move these projects along at warp speed rather than snail speed.
One last comment: I have lived in this city since 1981 and I swear that the Magic Mountain/I-5 interchange has been under one form of construction or remodel continuously since then. Another traffic nightmare.
Please, no more smoke and mirrors, find a way to get these two projects done now so we who live here now can drive around the city in one day.
