A knife and a gun were pulled at a teen party in Sand Canyon early Saturday morning, sending two boys to the hospital, a sheriff’s official said.

Deputies broke up a party at 1:35 a.m. in the 28300 block of Oaks Springs Canyon Road, after two teenagers pulled weapons in an altercation between two groups, said Lt. Tom Briski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Justin Myers, 23, allegedly pulled a gun and shot a male victim, Briski said. A male from the rival group pulled a knife, Briski said.

The victims went to the hospital and deputies arrested Myers, Briski said. Myers is charged with attempted murder. A bail amount has not been set.

An investigation was launched and deputies are playing it close to the vest with information until the suspects are nabbed, Briski said.

The condition of the two victims is unknown at this time, Briski said.
