Mission Valley Bank is celebrating its 10th anniversary by honoring 10 local nonprofit organizations with $10,000 in donations tonight.

The bank is donating $1,000 each to help support the local community groups at its Valencia branch. On July 21, the bank donated an additional $10,000 to nonprofits in the San Fernando Valley where the bank is headquartered.

“When Mission Valley Bank first opened its doors in 2001, it was with the vision of creating a strong business bank that was more about the client and the community — and less about the bank,” said Tamara Gurney, president and CEO.

“There seems no better way to celebrate our 10th anniversary than by giving a little something back to the communities that have supported our growth.”

Mission Valley Bank is joining with the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce for tonight’s event. Although the bank is based in Sun Valley, it has more branches in the SCV with one located in the Valencia Industrial Center and the other at the Centre Point business center.

“As a conscientious corporate citizen, we feel strongly that it is our responsibility to support those that support our community,” Gurney said.

Mission Valley Bank takes an active role with a significant number of local area nonprofit organizations through monetary contributions, as well as advisory positions and volunteerism, she said.

“It is our privilege to have this opportunity to honor just a few of our area’s many outstanding organizations.”
