An Agua Dulce man accused of being drunk when his car struck and killed his neighbor while she was out walking her dogs now faces four criminal charges, including murder.

Dennis Keene, 63, of White Fox Lane, appeared in Antelope Valley Municipal Court on Tuesday, when he was arraigned on charges of murder, vehicular manslaughter and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, including one for causing injury and the other for having a blood alcohol content over the legal limit.

Keene was being held in custody with bail set at $1 million.

He was arrested shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday for investigation of the killing of Lori Lindlief, 56, also of White Fox Lane, in Agua Dulce.

About 8 p.m. Saturday, Lindlief was walking her four dogs with her boyfriend on Mabana Street, just west of White Fox Lane, when she was hit by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, Officer Marino Hernandez of the California Highway Patrol said Monday.

"She went for a brief walk through the neighborhood with her dogs and her boyfriend, and they were walking back to the house when she was hit," Hernandez said.

"Due to (his) intoxication, (the driver) failed to see Lindlief, and the right front of his vehicle subsequently struck her," Hernandez said of the driver.

Lindlief suffered "major injuries" and was airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where she died as a result of those injuries Sunday, he said.
