"He was a source of light and joy for many," Fierro said.
Jacob was diagnosed with leukemia in January, two weeks before his second birthday, and was hospitalized nearly two months ago with breathing problems and an irregular heart beat.
In September, First Christian Church in Canyon Country hosted a bone marrow drive for Jacob after the family learned their son needed a bone marrow transplant. The event brought 150 people from the community who stood in line to have their cheeks swabbed for the test.
No matches were found from the drive, Fierro said.
Services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills.
