Sheriff’s deputies Monday were still looking for a dark-colored sedan with a white top, possibly a Cadillac, in connection with a drive-by shooting Sunday.

At about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, someone in a car shot up a house on the 18000 block of Nearbrook Street in Canyon Country.
People were in the house at the time, but no one was hurt, Sgt. Brian Allen of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said Monday.

The shooting does not appear to have been random, he said.

“I’m sure there was a specific reason for this but we’re not sure what it is,” he said. “It was very deliberate.”

The gunman fired at least five shots from a semiautomatic weapon into the single-family home occupied by a 25-year-old man.

“We’re looking for a dark sedan, with a white top, that fled down Crossglade Avenue,” Allen said. “It may have been a Cadillac.”

The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling north on Crossglade toward Soledad Canyon Road.

The targeted house is one of more than a dozen single-story homes on lots about 1,200 to 1,500 square feet.

Anyone with information is urged to call investigators at (661) 255-4991.
