Local detectives want the public’s help in identifying a woman who they say is impersonating someone else in a case of identity theft.

The theft happened at Sam’s Club, according to detectives with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Detectives are attempting to learn the identity of the female in the photograph,” Sgt. James Anderson said Thursday.

“This individual has opened credit card accounts in the (victim’s) name,” he said in a printed statement. “The credit cards have been used in Santa Clarita, and other locations in Los Angeles.”

Anyone with information is urged to call the  Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121, or, if they want to remain anonymous, to call 800-822-TIPS.
