Pastor John Koczman has green Jell-O poured on him during Bethlehem Lutheran Ministries’ vacation Bible school last week as part of a fundraiser for ZOE International.

A group of 330 local youngsters attending vacation Bible school at Bethlehem Lutheran Ministries applauded as Pastor John Koczman was “slimed” last week as part of a fundraising challenge at the Canyon Country church.

The children set a goal to raise $1,500 for ZOE International, a locally based relief organization that helps kids and adults escape human trafficking.

By the end of the week, the children raised $1,945, and their pastor was covered in green Jell-O, or “Jungle Juice,” as a reward.

The theme of this year’s VBS was Big Jungle Adventure, and it included games and crafts with a jungle theme.
