“I guess it started as a birthday party and these gangsters tried to push themselves into the party,” said Sgt. Ron Price of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Deputies were called to Walnut Springs Avenue about 12:30 a.m., sheriff’s officials said. They broke up a street brawl involving more than 40 participants.
One man fled to a nearby residence, where he holed up with a loaded .22 rifle, said Price and Leon Worden of SCVTV.
K-9 units were called in and arrived about 3 a.m. The armed youth was shot with a Taser gun and taken into custody without further incident.
Names of the suspects were not released because they were juveniles,
Walnut Springs Avenue runs parallel to Whites Canyon Road between Whites Canyon and Crossglade.
