Pancake Breakfast
What: The Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club hosts a pancake breakfast. $4 for blueberry pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee.

Independence Day Classic
What: The Santa Clarita Runners host the annual Independence Day Classic, a run to benefit the cross-country programs at local high schools. Race day entry fees are $35 for the 5K and Walk. Entry fees for the Kiddie K are $10.
When: 10K race at 7 a.m., Kids K at 7:45 a.m. and 5K walk/run at 8 a.m.

Fourth of July parade
What: The annual Santa Clarita Fourth of July parade. This year’s theme is a salute to the woman’s right to vote.
When:  9 a.m.
Where: The parade will start at Hart Park, go north on Main Street, left on Lyons Avenue, north onto Orchard Village Road, and end at 16th Street in Newhall.

Castaic Lake fireworks
What: Castaic Lake Recreation Area fireworks. Admission is $25 per car for the day; $5 per person walk in, children 5 years old and under are free

What: Stevenson Ranch fireworks show. Picnicking and recreation welcome all day.
