Sheriff's officials are investigating a deputy-involved shooting at a Canyon Country liquor store.

At about 8 p.m., deputies observed several young adults who appeared to be fighting in a liquor store at the corner of Soledad and Solamint canyon roads, according to sheriff's Sgt. Richard Nagler.

As the deputies approached, Nagler said it appeared that someone had a handgun, and shots were fired.

Nagler did not know who fired, but he said "absolutely no deputies" were injured, and he was unsure if there were any other injuries.

He said one person was detained.

It was unclear if the shooting was gang-related.

The investigation is ongoing.
