The executive director of the Santa Clarita Valley Committee on Aging has completed his contract, and is no longer with the agency, it was announced this week.

Tanya Marshall, controller for the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, assumed the day-to-day operations as interim executive director as the board searched for a new permanent executive director.

“The board wishes (James) Morgan all the best in his future endeavors and thanks him for his service in helping to operate the Senior Center during this transitional period,” Committee on Aging board President Don Kimball said of Morgan’s departure. Morgan’s last day was June 24.

“The entire board of directors, as well as our dedicated Senior Center management team and staff, are committed to meeting the needs of our community’s growing population of senior citizens and look forward to continuing this great legacy into the future,” Kimball said in a statement.
