Benz neighborhood part of problem and solution

I read yet another article in The Signal about the “Benz neighborhood” and how the traffic problems have “pitted neighbors against each other.”

I live in the neighborhood and feel it, too. I would like to say to my neighbors: Whatever your position on this whole traffic mess, we as a neighborhood need to be a part of the solution.

If we don’t speed when we are using our streets, we reduce the cry for speed humps.

If we use the major roads such as Copper Hill, David Way, Bouquet and Haskell whenever we can, instead of our residential streets, we reduce the need for diverters, closures and turn restrictions.

If we could keep about us an attitude of consideration for the people who live along Benz, Canterwood, Aliminos and Kathleen, we will make a difference.

It won’t stop the “cut-through traffic,” but by pulling together, instead of apart, we have the power to help change things.
