Santa Clarita’s public libraries are starting their summer reading programs on July 1.

The themes this year are “One World, Many Stories” for children, “You are Here” for teens and “Novel Destinations” for adults.

The summer reading program’s kick-off event will coincide with library grand re-openings on July 1 at Newhall and Canyon Country libraries and July 5 at the Valencia Library. Child participants will receive prizes as they complete their summer reading goals and celebrate their summer reading at an end-of-summer party on August 13.
