To generate support for the Summer Meltdown Concert for Social Inclusion and Autism Awareness, well-known recording artist Brian Bell performed in the quad at Bowman High School on May 20.
Students rocked to the beats of Bell’s message of hope and love for all.
His words included: “You are special! Don’t let anyone stand in your way!” Bell passed out free CDs of his music, signed autographed posters and gave away free tickets to the concert on May 21 at Golden Valley High School.
Bowman junior Lleyner Sosa said the music really moved her.
“Brian’s music transformed me into Happy Feet,” Sosa said. “He had energy and cared about us. He showed us support, and gave me a ticket for the concert, too.”
Senior Miranda Robins agreed, saying, “I liked Brian’s music. His lyrics related to us and were inspirational.”
Bowman music teacher Mike Coombe summed up the experience by saying, “Brian seemed to instantly relate and have a heart for the kids at our school. His sincerity was apparent as soon as he started his performance, and our students dug it.”
