Ten members of Girl Scout Troop 4082 from Valencia recently visited 10 Northern California cities to hand deliver chemotherapy care packages to cancer patients.

The girls stopped at University of California, San Francisco, hospital, Monterey Community Hospital, and Fresno and Templeton infusion centers as part of their May tour.

To date, the troop has provided more than 250 care packages to the UCLA Cancer Center at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, as well as cancer centers in City of Hope, West Hills and Westlake.

The girls hope to spread joy to cancer patients throughout California and inspire other Girl Scout Troops to do the same. The troop started the effort two years ago, and has earned the silver award, the second highest Girl Scout honor.
