Update, 1:41 p.m. Oct. 11, 2008
Less then 24 hours after the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station released surveillance photos of suspects in a burglary, detectives received a call from an anonymous tipster who positively identified the primary suspect in the case as Jonathan William Maier, 18, of Canyon Country, according to the station's public information office.

Detectives were also able to identify the other two individuals pictured in the initial post and through further investigation determined the two were not involved with the burglary of Homeros Gift Shop at 23413 Lyons Avenue in Newhall.

After the suspect was identified, detectives obtained information about a second man, Kevin Anthony Voytish, 20, of Valencia, who they seek for questioning in the case.

Detectives also determined that Maier is the primary suspect in a second crime, a robbery on the same date in the parking lot of the Vallarta Market at 23449 Lyons Avenue in Newhall. A robber allegedly assaulted a woman and stole her purse.

Detectives released photos of Maier and Voytish, and ask anyone with information about either suspect's whereabouts or either crime to call (661) 255-1121.
