Hart and West Ranch varsity volleyball each win in three straight

Prep Varsity Volleyball
Hart 3, Golden Valley 0

Hart High took three straight games Tuesday night winning 25-10, 25-12 and 25-15.

Standout performances included Hart junior Casey David who finished with five aces and 15 assists, freshman Brittani Elser with seven aces and five kills and senior Jen Drake who racked up four blocks.

West Ranch 3, Canyon 0
The Wildcats swept Canyon in three straight Tuesday night - 25-22,25-10 and 25-12.

Allison Summers had 16 kills, 14 digs and three aces leading the team in all three areas.

Isabelle Howell had nine kills.

Sophia Burns has 21 assists, while Lauren Shepard added 20assists.

West Ranch is now 6-4 overall and 2-0 in league. The team will face Hart on Tuesday.

Prep Varsity Tennis
Hart 15, Golden Valley 3

Leading Hart in singles was Anne Susdorf who won all three sets and is now 12-0 in league. Winning two sets in singles were Shelly Sachedeva and Julie Lefko for Hart.

In doubles Hart's number one team of Emily Van Houdt/Ingrid Jelderks and Hart's number two doubles team of Stacy Waung/Jessica Martinez won three sets each.

The number three team of Sam Fructuoso/Hima Boinpally won two sets.

Playing well for Golden Valley was Rachel Ho who won two sets.

 

Hart is now 3-1 in league and plays West Ranch next Tuesday at Hart.

College Mens Soccer
The Master's 2, CSUB 1

The CSUB men's soccer team made a valiant battle back from a 1-0 deficit, and played a man down the final 17 minutes, but was unable to finish the job in a 2-1 overtime lost to The Master's College Tuesday on The Main Soccer Field.

Both teams got off to a slow start, struggling to work the ball into the final third of the field throughout the first half. The Mustangs managed five shots in the half, while Bakersfield created just a pair of opportunities.

Nearly seven minutes into the first golden-goal overtime period, Marlon Lindo netted his team-leading fifth goal of the season for the Mustangs when his chipped shot from eight yards out deflected off a CSUB defender and the left post before finding the back of the net.

Prep JV Volleyball
Valencia 2, Saugus 0

Valencia withstood a barrage by Saugus in the first game to win its junior varsity volleyball match, 25-20, 25-7.

Bree Earley and Jolie Sproh both had four kills, while Brooke Dawson put away five service aces.

Hart 12, Golden Valley 6

Hart swept in singles - Maddison Mott won (7-5), (6-2) and (6-2), Shannon Cholakian won (6-3),(6-1) and (6-0), Kendall Jackson won (6-2),(6-1) and (6-3) Abby Taft and Addie Graeber won in doubles (6-3) and (6-4).

Ryan Smith and Makenna Geurts won in doubles (6-4).
