He will be deported again, INS official says

The pre-trial conference for alleged rapist Adrian Arriano was delayed from Monday to Thursday, a court official said.

Monday's delay will not push back Arriano's Oct. 20 trial date, said Karen Brown, San Fernando Superior Court spokeswoman.

Arriano allegedly raped two Canyon Country women at knifepoint in their homes in 2007. The first victim, a 20-year-old woman, was allegedly raped Jan. 9 in her home. The second victim, a 40-year-old woman, was allegedly raped March 26. Again Arriano allegedly attacked the victim in her home.

Arriano allegedly attempted to rape Erin O'Brien in her Canyon Country apartment, but she screamed and scared him away. She managed to get a clear view of her attacker and helped sheriff's deputies put together a composite sketch.

Arriano was arrested Sept. 10, 2007 after allegedly trying to break into a woman's second-story Newhall condominium.

Arriano was arraigned on Oct. 11, 2007 and charged with one count of attempted murder, nine counts of forcible rape, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, three counts of sodomy, three counts of forced oral copulation, four counts of burglary, one count of false imprisonment by violence, one count of residential robbery and one count of assault to commit a felony during a burglary.
He pled not guilty.

The United States Immigration and Naturalization Service placed a deportation hold on Arriano. He is a two-time deportee. INS will deport Arriano a third time regardless of the rape case outcome, said Lori Haley, INS spokeswoman.

Arriano is being held at the Men's Central Jail in lieu of $10 million bail.
