Tyler Silvestri
E-3 Airman (Aviation Boatswain’s Mate)
He is currently attending Aschool in Pensacola, Fla. He will be stationed in San Diego, (USS Carl Vinson).
He is a 2008 graduate of Saugus High School.
His parents are Brian Silvestri and Jan Marshall, of Valencia.

 Cameron Diorio
Cameron Diorio is an E-2 DCFA (Damage Control Fireman) stationed in Sasebo, Japan (USS Essex). recently assisted with the earthquake/tsunami relief effort.
He is a 2008 graduate of Saugus High School.
He is the son of Neil and Kristin Diorio, of Canyon Country.

Joseph Yanover
Joseph Yanover is an E-1 Airman stationed at the Naval Air Station Kaneohe, Hawaii.
He graduated Navy Bootcamp in April.
He is a 2008 graduate of Saugus High School.
He is the son of Joseph and Gigi Yanover, of Valencia.

Jared Banares
Jared Banares is an E-2 Airman Apprentice stationed in San Diego, (USS Carl Vinson).
He graduated Navy Bootcamp in March.
He is a 2009 graduate of Saugus High School.
He is the son of Elezear Banares and Theresa Salvino, of Valencia.

Jesse R. Shands
Navy Seaman Jesse R. Shands, son of Virginia M. Shands of Canyon Country, and Robert Arnold, of Canyon Country, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Shands completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
The capstone event of boot camp is Battle Stations. Battle Stations is designed to galvanize the basic warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance in each recruit through the practical application of basic Navy skills and the core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. 
Shands is a 2006 graduate of Canyon High School in Canyon Country.

Brett D. Sheilds
