Deputies arrested a San Francisco woman behind a Stevenson Ranch La Quinta Inn on Friday morning. She was allegedly driving more than $10,000 worth of marijuana and hash to Glendale, according to authorities.

The woman, 34, was arrested on suspicion of several felony charges, including possession of marijuana and concentrated cannabis for sale, said Sgt. Darren Harris of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The woman and a man were spotted sleeping by deputies in a rented 2010 Ford Focus about 8 a.m. Friday. The man was detained but later released, authorities said.

When deputies approached the car, they could smell marijuana.

During a search of the car, approximately three pounds of marijuana were discovered stashed in a blue suitcase.

“The blue suitcase was in the trunk, but stuff was found throughout the entire car,” said Deputy Manskar who searched the vehicle. Manskar withheld his first name.

Several vials of hashish oil, a small bag of cocaine, a small bag of hallucinogenic mushrooms, an electronic scale and about $300 were also discovered in the car.

Manskar and other narcotics detectives were filling out evidence reports and documenting all of the drugs that they had seized at the Sheriff’s Station on Friday. Harris said the paperwork would likely take several hours to complete.
