Vikings plunder their namesakes

Tartabull catches everything in easy win over the visiting Vikings

Valencia's Zack Tartabull had close to 200 yards receiving in a 42-0 win over Hueneme.

Valencia came up with its second shutout of the season Friday, in a 42-0 rout of Hueneme.

The Vikings went on the road to Oxnard to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Quarterback Alex Bishop continued his strong play, passing for more than 270 yards and four touchdowns.

Bishop has been stepping in for Dominick Solley, who is out with an ankle injury.

Receiver Zach Tartabull had nearly 200 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

"The kids played real well," Valencia head coach Larry Muir said.

Defensive end Spencer Buckley intercepted a screen pass and returned it 26 yards for a touchdown.

Running back Jordan Thompson was the leading rusher for Valencia, whose next game is against Westchester of Los Angeles on Friday at Dr. Paul A. Priesz Stadium in Valencia.

Thompson caught a 10-yard screen pass for a touchdown.
Wide receiver Daniel Johnson caught a 35-yard touchdown on a post-corner route.

Linebacker Andrew LaVoise was among the team leaders in tackles.

On Sept. 19, Valencia shut out Birmingham, 24-0.
