Man killed in crash on Sierra Highway

A 28-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning after his car veered off Sierra Highway and rolled over, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials said Saturday.

At about 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, Luis Gonsalez was driving his 2000 Ford Explorer northbound on Sierra Highway one mile south of Newhall Avenue, according to a report from Lt. Joe Efflandt. During that time, Gonsalez’s car went off the road and into an embarkment and rolled over, according to the report.

No other vehicles were involved.

Authorities from the Santa Clarita Valley Station’s traffic office are investigating the incident. If anyone saw the collision or has additional information, call the station at (661) 255-1121.
