Wilczynski wins three dominating sets; Fraczek sisters excel

The Valencia Viking girls tennis team, ranked No. 1 in CIF Division III for the first time in team history, downed Buckley at home on Wednesday, 13-5.

Thalia Wilczynski, Valencia's No. 2 singles player, swept today 6-0, 6-2, 6-0 against Madeline Fuhrman, Ruth Madeievsky, and Liz Gershman.

Number one singles player Isabella Fraczek added two more sets 6-2, 6-0, before being subbed out and Shin Jae Kim added another set 6-0.

On the doubles side, Emily Fraczek and Amanda Jansson swept and won 6-3, 6-3, 6-1.

Clarice Fraczek and Eunice Pack lost their first set 3-6 and then Clarice with Ashley Karzin won 6-4 before substitutes Stephanie Singerman and Swasti Shrestha won, 6-1.

Chelsie Dietz and Max David won two out of three 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, and 6-0.

Buckley's doubles were Emily Caris and Diana Barkhoudhanan, Hadleigh Gliest and Kathrine Krylova, and Carissa Zidell and Natasha Super.

The Vikings will take the court again at 3 p.m. today at Hart in the Foothill League opener.
