Crime Watch: Suspicious activity from April 19-27, 2011

April 19
Between 3:45 p.m. and 6 a.m. April 20 Mendoza Drive, Saugus. A man’s wallet containing $62 was stolen from his unlocked car that was parked in front of his home.

April 20
Between 12 and 1 p.m. 18635 Soledad Canyon Road, Canyon Country. A pair of Versace sunglasses was stolen from inside a locked 1995 Nissan sedan while the victim was at the dentist. While the car was locked, the car was not damaged.

April 22
Between midnight and 9 a.m. Mill Valley Road and Old Course Way, Valencia. Someone stole art supplies and the victim’s debit card from inside a locked Toyota Celica parked near the intersection. The Toyota’s passenger side window had been smashed.

Between 6:50 and 10:30 a.m. 16000 block of Highfalls Street, Canyon Country. A man reported that somebody had broken into his home office and stole two LCD televisions worth more than $6,000.

4:30 p.m. Rotunda Road, Valencia. While a woman was picking up her child from Sunshine Learning Center, a preschool, she saw a 19-year-old man hop the back fence of her home and enter the house. Deputies found the man inside and he was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

April 23
11:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. Logdell Avenue, Newhall. A woman reported that her landlord had gone into her locked bedroom and poured an “oily” substance on her laptop keyboard, destroying it. Authorities placed the landlord on a psychological hold for a mental evaluation.

Between 6 and 6:45 p.m. 25510 The Old Road, Stevenson Ranch. While a woman was shopping at Toys ‘R’ Us, someone stole her wallet, car keys and sunglasses from inside her shopping cart.

April 26
Between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. 23222 Valencia Boulevard, Valencia. While a man was shopping at Kmart, someone stole a Dell Inspiron laptop computer from his unlocked car in the parking lot.

April 27
Between midnight and 1 a.m. Hemingway Avenue, Stevenson Ranch. Someone smashed the passenger side window of a Ford Bronco parked in front of the victim’s home and stole an Android cell phone from the center console.

11:30 p.m. Lugar De Oro Drive, Saugus. A 46-year-old man was arrested at his home on suspicion of domestic battery after his wife, 42, told deputies he had grabbed her by the face and arm during an argument.

2 p.m. Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia. A 20-year-old Mission Viejo man was arrested on suspicion of interfering with a lawful business after a deputy saw him climbing a fence near the X2 roller coaster. The same man had been asked 20 minutes earlier to leave the park after he cursed at employees.

Between April 20 and April 27, 30 people were arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department booking logs.
