A duck stands on the dock at the boat launch ramp of the Castaic Lakes upper lake,  where 50 mile-an-hour winds whipped up 2-foot swells and kept all boats off the lake on Tuesday.

Wind gusts reached 45 mph Friday, but the weekend forecast calls for less bluster.  The National Weather Service report for this weekend forecasts sunny skies, with wind gusts expected to reach up to 30 miles per hour.
