City spokeswoman receives top honor

City of Santa Clarita spokeswoman Gail Ortiz received the California Public Information Official Association’s Paul B. Clark Award for outstanding public service at the organization’s recent yearly conference in Sacramento.

Over the past 21 years, Ortiz has helped the city garner regional and national media attention through creative programs and special events, such as the “Extreme Neighborhood Makeover” program and “Milk and Cookies with the Mayor,” according to a city statement.
