Retirement preparation workshop
Alexander Financial Group hosts its second dinner retirement workshop at 6 p.m. today in Robinson Ranch. Scott R. Alexander, President and CEO of the group and noted financial advisor, will "provide analysis of current market fluctuations and their impact on retirement assets," according to Alexander Financial. Other topics Alexander will cover include uneasiness in the CD market, ideas to gaurantee income during a long retirement, ways to reduce tax burdens on retirement savings, and preserving assets for retirement and passing them on to future generations. A complimentary dinner follows the workshop.

Nonprofit chairman named
The Board for the Valley Women's Center, a Canoga Park non-profit agency, installed Santa Clarita local Matt Wyckoff as a new Chairman.

Wyckoff is a senior branch manager and assistant vice president at First Bank's Westlake Village office. He has more than 17 years of banking experience. The non-profit provides counseling, education, support, and referral services to women and their family members at risk for alcohol, drugs and other threats to family stability.
