Investigators are trying to identify several children who were videotaped by a Canyon Country man arrested last month after allegedly taping a 12-year-old boy inside a College of the Canyons bathroom.

The children were on videotapes found inside Daniel Donovan’s car at the time he was arrested. The tapes show other children inside restrooms, said Lt. Carlos Marquez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victim’s Bureau.

On March 21, a 12-year-old boy said he saw a man try to videotape him while he tried to use a bathroom on the Valencia campus, according to a statement. The boy ran out of the bathroom and identified Donovan as the man who allegedly videotaped him. Guards detained Donovan until deputies arrived on campus.

Donovan, 32, is out on bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned in May on charges of child molestation and possession of child pornography in Newhall Superior Court, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s officials said.

Detectives have yet to identify any of the other victims who were videotaped, Marquez said. They have received several phone calls since he was arrested.

“We’re following up on every lead we get; but at this time, we haven’t identified additional victims,” Marquez said.

The exact number of children who appear on the tapes was withheld.

Marquez said it’s not clear from the tapes if any other children were recorded inside bathrooms at College of the Canyons, where Donovan is a part-time student.

College of the Canyon’s disciplinary process was initiated when Donovan was arrested, college spokesman Bruce Battle said.

“He is currently not welcome on campus, but we can’t get into specifics at this point,” Battle said.

Donovan was enrolled in two classes on the Valencia campus at the time he was arrested. He has attended COC intermittently since 2001.

Donovan, who lives in the 14800 block of Daisy Meadow Street, was released from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on April 2 after posting $45,000 bail, according to arrest records.
