Two men accused in a Canyon Country stabbing were arraigned Monday in Santa Clarita Superior Court on attempted murder charges, a sheriff's official said.

George Alvira, 20, of Canyon Country and Charles Andre Anderson, 20, of Canoga Park are accused in a Sept. 14 stabbing attack that sent a teenager to the hospital, said Sgt. Darren Harris of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

The two male victims escorted their two female dates home after a house-warming party when Alvira, Anderson and three other assailants allegedly approached them demanding money, Harris said. The assailant allegedly upped the ante and demanded the car belonging to one of the victims, he said.

A brawl followed, and one of the victims was sent to the hospital with a stab wound, he said.

The subsequent investigation led to a search warrant issued for four homes in Santa Clarita, Harris said. Sheriff's deputies executed the warrants Thursday and nabbed Alvira and Anderson.

The other suspects are still loose and the investigation continues, he said.

Anderson and Alvira are being held in lieu of $575,000 bail and are awaiting preliminary hearing, Harris said.

Anyone with information can call the Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121.
