Nissan of Valencia quadruples sales
Nissan of Valencia smashed sales records in March. The all new dealership team quadrupled the number of average cars sold by selling 115 vehicles in March, breaking the auto store’s average sales of 30-40 units per month under the previous ownership. Dan Sterkel, general manager, said it was the first time the store hit triple digits since 2008.

Allbright Paints it SMARTer
Allbright Painting is offering a four-week summer training program to give young people without fathers a chance to learn an employable trade. Paint It SMART, for “Single Mothers And Responsible Teens,” is a new apprenticeship program for high school and college students, both young men and women, who want to learn a trade.

Magazine kicks off entrepreneur contest
Entrepreneur magazine announced a nationwide contest last week for small-business owners. The contest is presented by the UPS Store. In its fourth consecutive annual contest, the search is on through June 15 for winners in three categories, seeking companies that challenge the status quo within their business market.

Floral shop blossoms into sign business
Launching two local businesses, a florist shop called Blooming Affairs and a special occasion yard sign service called Stork Delivery of Santa Clarita, owner Debra Johnson Romero attracted the attention of a national company in her industry and won an innovation award for marketing.
