A coroner's autopsy shows murder victim Anthony Lombardi was shot.

Lombardi was robbed at gunpoint and shot while seated in his car in the drive way of his Valencia home Sept. 16, said Lt. Dave Coleman of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau, on Thursday..

The time of death was about 10 a.m., Coleman said. Three teenage boys found Lombardi's bloody body in his car about noon that day, he said.

Detectives initially believed Lombardi was stabbed multiple times.

"During the initial observation detectives reported Lombardi was stabbed. An autopsy reports showed those stab wounds were actually bullet exit wounds," Coleman said.

The murder stunned the community and many residents are still looking for answers. So are the deputies, Coleman said. The investigation is at a standstill and there aren't many clues, he said.

Investigators questioned family members and neighbors and collected physical evidence, he said. Now local authorities are stepping up their efforts to find the culprits, Coleman said.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the city of Santa Clarita are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrests and conviction of any persons involved in the crime.
