Bicycle riders are invited to participate in the final series of community meetings on a Bicycle Master Plan in development by Los Angeles County.

A meeting in Newhall is scheduled for Monday, April 4 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at William S. Hart Park, 24151 Newhall Ave., Newhall 91321.

The Master Plan seeks to expand and connect county bikeways, improve existing county bicycle facilities, develop and prioritize a list of proposed bikeways and bicycle projects, and promote bicycle usage.

The draft Master Plan will more than quadruple the amount of bikeways from 132 miles to more than 800 miles within 20 years.

During these meetings, participants have an opportunity to review the draft Master Plan and provide comments.

The meetings begin on March 28 and end on April 14.

Other meetings will be held in Marina del Rey, Topanga, East Los Angeles, Ladera Heights, Rowland Heights, Baldwin Park, Calabasas, Lancaster and Athens Village.
