A van drives past the Tony Alamo Christian Church on Sierra Highway at the edge of Saugus on Wednesday afternoon.

FBI agents, sheriff’s deputies and county protective services agents stormed the Alamo Ministeries of Saugus compound at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a sheriff’s report.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies and the Federal Bureau of Investigation accompanied officials from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Service on the raid, said Louise Grasmehr, DCFS spokesperson.

“We have a multi agency response and the FBI contacted us about going to the compound,” Grasmehr said.

It is standard for DCFS to accompany law enforcement when children are threatened, she said.

She declined to comment whether any children were taken from the compound.

FBI agents and local child protective services raided Alamo’s Arkansas compound Saturday. The buzz echoed across the country as Arkansas agents told California agents about the Alamo raid, said FBI Special Agent Steve Frazier.

“The FBI field office is aware of the investigative action that has taken place in Arkansas, as well as the search that took place in Fouke,” Frazier said. “The Little Rock FBI office informed the LA office,” he added, declining to identify precisely when the local office was informed.

Asked if the two FBI offices coordinated their raids, Frazier said he could not comment.

No one was arrested during the raid, a sheriff’s official said.
