Hart girls win opener

Hart 12, Canyon 6
Hart's Anne Susdorf swept all three singles 6-1 6-0 6- 0 and Shelly Sachdeva won two of three.

In doubles, Stacy Waung and partner Jessica Martinez swept all three sets while Ingrid Jelderks and Emily Van Houdt, Cassie Moore and Sam Fructuoso won two sets each.

Canyon's Nicole Smith won two of three sets. Hart is now 1-0 in league and will face Saugus Thursday at Hart.

Valencia 16, Golden Valley 2
Valencia (4-1, 1-0) kicked off its league season with a 16-2 home win over Golden Valley on Tuesday.

No. 1 singles player, Isabella Fraczek swept 6-0, 6-0,6-1 over Rachel Ho, Kristine Tan, and Julie Lim. No. 2 singles player Shin Jae Kim added two more 1-6, 6-0, 6-1, and Ashley Karzin won 2 sets, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.

On the doubles side the Vikings swept all nine sets with Emily Fraczek and Amanda Jansson leading the way at 6-0, 6-1, 6-1 over Christine Ganesky and Elizabeth Oliver; Jaimi Rosen and Rhonanjee Vy; and Carole Lee and Christine Lee.

Clarice Fraczek and Eunice Pack followed with a 6-1, 6-1, 6-0 sweep and Chelsie Dietz and Andrea Zammit also swept 6-3, 6-1, 6-2.

Next up for the Vikings is a Thursday match-up with West Ranch.

Valencia 10, St. Bonaventure 8
Valencia knocked off St. Bonaventure of Ventura, last year's Division V Finalist, 10-8 on Monday.

No. 1 singles player Isabella Fraczek won 6-2, 6-0, 6-0 over Nicolette Rosales, Noelle Taerayo and Kelly McWilliams.

No. 2 singles player Clarice Fraczek also added a sweep for the Vikings with a comeback win over St. Bonaventure's No. 1, 6-4, 6-0, 6-0, after trailing the first set 4-2.

La Canada 3 Hart 1
Hart (3-4) lost a girls volleyball match at home on Tuesday to La Canada High.

Breena Beckett blocked nine shots in a 19-25, 29-27, 12-25, 15-25 defeat. Allison Toledo finished with 23 digs.

SC Christian 3, Milken 1
Kristina Gibson had 12 kills, 14 digs, two aces and eightblocks in Santa Clarita Christian's 25-18, 23-25, 28-26, 25-20 win over Milken.

Kaley Morrison added eight kills, seven digs, six aces, and nine blocks, Karla Eberlein had eight kills, seven digs four aces, and 12 blocks and Joanna Masopust had 33 assists for the Cardinals (3-1 1-0). SCCS next plays at a tournament in Joshua Springs on Saturday.

Hart 12, Canyon 6
Hart's singles players Shannon Cholakian and Maddison Mott won three sets each. Doubles team Abby Taft and Heidi Graeber also won three sets.

West Ranch defeated Canyon 25-21, 25-22 in the Quartz Hill Tournament on Saturday. Angel Rutledge had three kills in both sets. West Ranch opens season action Thursday facing Golden Valley at home.
