Support local doctors at Newhall Memorial

The Signal’s March 13 article, “Hospital execs to cure ills,” is about two out-of-area doctors who are joining leadership to make it all better at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

It’s all a bunch of smoke and mirrors, using words like, “American Medical Association,” and, “White House,” and making it look like everything is just fine.

Really? Everyone getting paid huge amounts of money for this task, plus administration all intertwined and interconnected being paid huge amounts of money, with Roger Seaver at the top taking in more than $500,000 a year, and their care is about one thing — the almighty dollar in their own pockets.

Administration is being challenged for not following the rules. Doctors have voted No Confidence against Seaver.
Doctors are standing up for patients’ rights in this hospital and disagreeing with administration, and they are being yanked from their positions and losing privileges.

One of those doctors is a founding father of this hospital who has lived and worked here for more than 30 years, takes care of the elderly and special-needs persons in this town, and has dedicated his life to patient care. That doctor is Dr. John Cocco, and it is a travesty what this administration has done and will continue to do to other doctors if we don’t open our eyes, Santa Clarita.

This is a hospital that we, the people, have donated to, to make it better. And the last thing we need is for our doctors to be bullied by administration.

Will your doctor be next to go for standing up for your rights? If it goes against the administration, that could happen.
As a community, we need to side with our local doctors, who know and care for us. Dr. Gene Dorio is standing up for us, too. You can read his Rant and Rave blog on the West Ranch Beacon’s website and investigate for yourselves what may be going on.

Dr. Cocco needs to be back at Newhall Memorial, where he belongs. And I am appalled that our elders of this community, as well as our special-needs patients, who need and rely on him, are being deprived of the great care Dr. Cocco brings to this community.
