Nathaniel Pilkinton, 18, of Canyon Country was taken into custody near Soledad Canyon Road and Golden Oak Road at a local military recruiting office. Pilkinton was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on a felony charge of Attempted Murder and was held on $500,000 bail.
According to detectives, Pilkinton recently visited a local military recruiting office. Following-up on the tip, detectives visited the office at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and found the suspect at the location. Detectives made an arrest and took Pilkinton into custody.
Last week, two others were arrested for their alleged roles in the Jan. 8 shooting.
The first suspect - Daniel Gonzalez, 20, of Alpine - was booked at the Sheriff's Station on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon and was held on $53,500 bail. Deputies also recovered the vehicle used in the shooting.
A second suspect, 19-year-old Pablo Blanco of Canyon Country, was arrested late last week and was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon and was being held on $50,000 bail.
The incident occurred on Jan. 8, when three male suspects in a dark-colored Ford Mustang reportedly approached a group of three male Hispanic men standing on Lone Rock Street and exchanged words with them.
When one of the men in the street walked toward the car, a passenger in the vehicle allegedly fired at least one shot from a small-caliber handgun. The 19-year-old victim was struck in the upper torso. The shooting occurred in front of a house near the intersection of Lone Rock Street and Deep Tree Road in Canyon Country.
There were no fatalities in the shooting.
