Criminal charges had not been filed as of Thursday against two friends of a 21-year-old Canyon Country woman who died in July after fracturing her skull, more than five months after they were arrested.

The investigation into the death of Canyon Country resident Rosemary Flynn continues. Authorities hope to present a case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office soon, Lt. Dave Coleman Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau said last week.

In the meantime, detectives have kept Flynn’s family updated about progress made in the investigation, Coleman said.

In September, 28-year-old Bryon Murray — Flynn’s boyfriend — was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.

Brianne Gill, 24, was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to vehicular manslaughter after she allegedly lied to investigators about the circumstances surrounding Flynn’s death, according to previous reports.

Witnesses said Flynn and Murray got into an argument outside of the apartment they shared on Jakes Way after the two had left a Canyon Country bar and restaurant about 1:30 a.m. July 31.

When Murray tried to drive away in his truck, Flynn grabbed onto the driver’s door, Duval said.

While making a U-turn onto Jakes Way, Flynn was thrown from the side of the truck and hit her head on the asphalt.

Murray brought Flynn back to their apartment. But when Flynn wouldn’t wake up eight hours later, Murray called paramedics. That was at 9:15 a.m.

Flynn died of blunt force trauma to the head, detectives have said.

Flynn, who played softball and basketball at Canyon High School, was weeks away from applying for her state license in phlebotomy — the process of collecting blood samples.
