A Saugus man allegedly led deputies on a short foot pursuit across Seco Canyon Road earlier this week before being arrested, authorities said Thursday.

Deputies spotted the 25-year-old man, who allegedly violated the terms of his parole, near Tailgate sports bar on Bouquet Canyon Road about 2 p.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. Darren Harris of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“When the parolee saw (deputies), he ran,” Harris said.

The man ran through a Saugus shopping center parking lot and across Seco Canyon Road before being apprehended in the parking lot of Los Angeles County Fire Station 111.

“It was a fairly brief foot pursuit,” Harris said. “He got into the fire station parking lot and couldn’t escape.”

He was taken into custody without further incident, Harris said.

The man, who was on parole after a burglary arrest, was being held without bail at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for the alleged parole violation.
