Fraczek wins in three straight, Wilczynski two

The Valencia girls' tennis team won in convincing fashion over Oxnard High Thursday, sweeping in both singles and doubles play.f

The Vikings took six out of nine singles sets and won eight of nine on the doubles side.

Individually, Isabella Fraczek won three straight, 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1 while Thalia Wilczynski took two out of three, winning 6-0 and 7-5, but fell 6-7 in a close 10-8 tiebreaker to Oxnard's Moira Hedberg.

Ashley Karzin also added a set 6-4, losing two others 2-6 and 5-7.

Doubles partners Emily Fraczek and Amanda Jansson dominated the Yellowjackets doubles teams 6-2, 6-2 and 6-0, while Clarice Fraczek and Eunice Pack also swept their sets.

Andrea Zammit and Chelsie Dietz added two more, 6-2 and 6-3. Dietz and substitute Kirstie Kwock lost a tiebreaker to the top-ranked Oxnard team 6-7 (7-4).

The Vikings have been undefeated league champions the past six years heading into this season. Next up for the Vikings is Division V CIF finalist, St. Bonaventure on Monday at Valencia.

The Valencia Varsity Fall Brawl Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, has been re-scheduled for Oct. 11.
